Slices

impulses unfurl

delicate and translucent 

petal soft synapses

axons intertwine to form

the rosebud blush

the rhythm beneath  your rib cage

that pulse that fuels your limbs

the sparks cascade down your spine

fill your lungs

bend your knees

curl your fingers

imprint an image of the lake on the back of your skull

send tears rolling down cheeks

these sparks

tremble

laugh

they are t he unanswered questions

that hang in the air

playing in the gusts of wind

like fallen petals

imprinted with Rorschach blot butterflies

minute details of their wings

captured in the contrast

of dendrites and myelin  

bundles of fibers

like bouquets plucked from the garden

fragile

transparent

and we exist within petal soft synapses
